Raisen (MP), Sep 7 (PTI) Four youth were killed and one was critically injured after their speeding car crashed into a roadside tree in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen district early on Monday, police said.
The five persons, belonging to Devtiya village, were returning home from Obedullaganj when the accident occurred.
The speeding car crashed into a tree near Devtiya village, leaving the vehicle badly damaged. The occupants had to be extricated using cutters, Obedullaganj Sub Divisional Officer of Police Sheela Surana said.
Three persons — Gaurav Nagar (20), Shubham Nagar (21) and Krish alias Kashish Nagar (21) — died on the spot. Another car occupant, Ashish Nagar (21), succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital, the official said.
Another person, identified as Prashant Harsh Nagar (21), was referred to AIIMS Bhopal in critical condition, Surana said.
A case was registered and autopsies were conducted before the bodies were handed over to their families, she added. PTI COR LAL GK
