Five Naxalites held in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma

Sukma, Jun 18 (PTI) Five Naxalites, who were allegedly involved in the recent murder of a villager, were arrested in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, police said on Wednesday.

The cadres, identified as Muchaki Budhra (35), Madvi Somad (30), Kunjam Bichchem (25), Madvi Dhurva (30) and Dodi Somad (30), were arrested by a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and police, a police official said.

They were active in Puvarti area, the native village of Maoist leader Hidma, he said.

Of them, Muchaki Budhra, Puvarti revolutionary party committee militia commander of Maoists, carried a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head, he said.

All of them were allegedly involved in the murder of ‘Gram Patel’ (village head) Rama Bodke in Puvarti on June 7 this year after accusing him of being a police informer and also assaulted his family members, he said.

Last year, 925 Naxalites were arrested in Bastar region, comprising seven districts including Sukma. PTI COR TKP NP
