New Delhi, Sep 13 (PTI) A fire broke out at a godown storing wooden items in east Delhi’s Dallupura area on Sunday, with a Delhi Fire Service officer being hospitalised after inhaling smoke while dousing the flames, officials said.
Station Officer Sunil Sagar was rushed to LBS Hospital in a CATS ambulance after he inhaled smoke during the firefighting operation, they said.
Some locals claimed that a person who used to work at the godown was missing. Officials were carrying out searches to ascertain whether anyone was trapped inside, an officer said.
The Delhi Fire Service received a call regarding the blaze at 3.29 pm, following which 16 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
The firefighting department was in the process of bringing the blaze under control and conducting search and rescue operations, according to the officer.
