FIFA World Cup 2026 final: Bengaluru police extend restaurant hours

Bengaluru, Jul 17 (PTI) Good news for football fans as the Bengaluru Police on Friday said hotels and restaurants will be permitted extended food service hours on July 19 and 20 to facilitate public viewing of the FIFA World Cup 2026 third-place play-off and final matches.

According to an order issued by the Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, hotels and restaurants within the Bengaluru city police commissionerate limits will be allowed to serve food till 5 am on July 19, when the third-place play-off is scheduled, and till 3.30 am on July 20, when the final will be played.

The order, following a representation from the National Restaurant Association of India, said the extension has been granted under the provisions of the Karnataka Police Act, 1963.

The existing closing time for food service is 1 am, and the revised timings will apply only on the specified dates, it added. PTI AMP VGN
