FDA seizes banned tobacco products worth over Rs 30 lakh in Sambhajinagar

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra), Jul 28 (PTI) The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has seized banned tobacco-based products worth Rs 30.29 lakh from two locations in the city, officials said on Tuesday.

Raids were conducted in Moti Karanja and Mondha areas of the city, the official said.

During a search of the residential premises of Syed Wajed, Syed Majed and Syed Sajed, the officials seized banned food products worth Rs 14.02 lakh, he said.

Another FDA team raided a godown located below Baba Lodge near Hari Masjid in Nawabpura. A stock of banned tobacco-based products worth Rs 16.27 lakh was seized from the premises, the official said. PTI AW KRK
