Mumbai, Apr 18 (PTI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday directed the energy department to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure uninterrupted power generation and supply, particularly during peak summer demand and the upcoming monsoon season.

Chairing a review meeting on electricity demand and distribution, Fadnavis said all agencies must take measures on war-footing to maintain stable power supply and strengthen system resilience.

Fadnavis emphasised the use of AI-driven systems for efficient management, predictive maintenance and timely repairs, aimed at minimising disruptions in electricity supply, an official release said.

Officials informed that adequate arrangements have been made for power generation, including sufficient availability of coal and water, while rooftop solar initiatives are also contributing to supply.

They added that pre-monsoon maintenance and repair works are being carried out on priority and that the system is fully prepared to handle emergency situations, the release said. PTI MR BNM
