Singh is currently serving as the Vice Chancellor of the Delhi Technological University (DTU). He was reappointed for a second term earlier this year.
Singh was among the frontrunners to become the vice chancellor of DU.
Singh’s appointment comes after former Delhi University VC Yogesh Tyagi was suspended in October last year for alleged administrative lapses. P.C. Joshi has been functioning as the acting VC.
Who is Yogesh Singh
Singh has previously served as the Vice Chancellor of the Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda from 2011-14, and dean at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University from 2001-2006.
He holds a Master’s degree in electronics and communication engineering from NIT Kurukshetra and a PhD in computer engineering.
