New Delhi: Amazon India Wednesday launched ‘Amazon Academy’, an online platform to help engineering students prepare for competitive exams like the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

JEE (Mains), the entrance exam for engineering colleges across India, is held twice a year — in January and April. JEE (Advanced) is meant for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The platform includes curated learning material, live lectures and comprehensive assessments in Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

Available on the web and Google Play Store, the beta version of the platform is free for all. The app has already been downloaded over a million times from the play store.

“Amazon Academy will also hold live All India Mock Tests (AIMT) at scheduled intervals. These tests are designed to mirror the JEE experience helping students understand the nuances of the examination. Students will also benefit from shortcuts, mnemonics, tips, and tricks, equipping them with the necessary tools to retain concepts and solve questions effectively,” read a statement by Amazon.

Furthermore, in order to help JEE aspirants track their progress, the platform offers students an All-India Rank for their mock test and assesses their test performance through personalised reports highlighting chapter-wise time and strength analysis.

It also offers daily JEE tricks and tips through its feature called ‘Past Daily Digest’.

‘An edge for JEE aspirants’

According to Anmol Gurwara, education director at Amazon India, “Amazon Academy aims to bring high quality, affordable education to all, starting with those preparing for engineering entrance examinations. Our mission is to help students achieve their outcomes while also empowering educators and content partners reach millions of students.”

“Our primary focus has been on content quality, deep learning analytics and student experience. This launch will help engineering aspirants prepare better and achieve the winning edge in JEE,” Gurwara said in a statement.

The website‘s online curriculum will feature “more than 15,000 high-quality questions covering the entire JEE syllabus, mock tests including chapter-wise tests, part tests, full tests, and past papers to aid your preparation”.

Amazon Academy has separate JEE Main and Advanced syllabus for students of Classes 11 and 12. The content for the platform has been created by field experts, according to the statement.
