EC extends last date for submission of SIR enumeration forms in T’gana

Hyderabad, Jul 31 (PTI) The Election Commission on Friday extended the last date for submission of enumeration forms as part of ongoing SIR of electoral rolls up to August 10.

The house-to-house enumeration for the SIR of electoral rolls commenced in Telangana on June 25 and it was supposed to conclude on July 24. The EC on July 15 extended it up to August 3.

“ECI has extended the time for enumeration up to August 10,” state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C Sudharshan Reddy said in a release.

Meanwhile, the CEO office reported that 77.12 per cent of enumeration forms were digitised as of 6 PM on Friday.

As per the revised SIR schedule, draft electoral rolls will be published on August 17, and the claims and objections period will run from August 17 to September 16.

The disposal of claims and objections would take place between August 17 and October 15. The final electoral rolls would be published on October 19, the CEO said in the release. PTI SJR SJR KH
