New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu, has announced the opening of a Consulate in Auckland, New Zealand. This decision is in line with India’s efforts to strengthen its diplomatic relations with New Zealand. The Consulate is expected to provide consular services to the Indian community in Auckland and strengthen the ties between the two countries, a PIB press release stated.
The announcement was made during a reception hosted by the High Commission of India in Auckland, which was attended by the President, members of the Indian community, and other dignitaries. In her speech, the President appreciated the contributions of the Indian community to the development and prosperity of New Zealand. She also outlined the potential opportunities for collaboration between the two countries in the areas of business, education, healthcare, and technology.
The President expressed confidence in the future of India-New Zealand relations and highlighted the positive impact of high-level visits and delegations between the two countries. She praised the government and people of New Zealand for their inclusive and welcoming spirit, which has facilitated the success of the Indian community in Auckland.
