New Delhi, Aug 5 (PTI) The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has floated a tender for the supply and installation of 13 Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations (CAAQMS) across the capital as part of efforts to strengthen the city’s air quality monitoring network.
According to the tender document issued on July 31, the selected bidder will be responsible for supplying, installing and commissioning the monitoring stations, besides operating and maintaining them for 10 years from the date of commissioning.
The scope of work includes installation of analysers for major air pollutants such as PM2.5, PM10, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, ozone, ammonia and BTEX, along with meteorological instruments, calibration systems and supporting infrastructure.
The contractor will also be responsible for calibration, preventive maintenance, quality assurance, data validation and uninterrupted functioning of the stations during the contract period, according to the document.
The tender requires bidders to have experience in manufacturing or supplying at least five similar air quality monitoring stations over the past seven years and an average annual turnover of at least Rs 15 crore during the last three financial years.
The successful bidder will also have to maintain an office-cum-service centre in the Delhi-NCR region and ensure the availability of spare parts and consumables for the entire 10-year operation and maintenance period.
A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for August 10, while bids can be submitted till August 20. Technical bids will be opened the same day.
In May, the DPCC had floated a tender for the installation of 10 CAAQMS as part of its plan to add new air quality monitoring stations across Delhi during the year.
Earlier this year, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had inaugurated six new CAAQMS and said the government was working to ensure that every 25-square-kilometre area in Delhi has at least one monitoring station to generate more comprehensive and accurate air quality data. PTI AHD AHD MNK MNK
