Jaipur, Apr 24 (PTI) Rajasthan Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma on Friday said discipline and alertness are key to the identity of the police force.

Addressing an investiture ceremony of the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) here, he emphasised that professionalism must reflect in every aspect of policing from turnout to on-ground response.

“The identity of the police is defined by its discipline and readiness. Whether it is security duty, jail duty or maintaining law and order, there should be no compromise in preparation,” he said.

He also highlighted the importance of proper use of equipment during law and order duties and urged personnel to continuously improve through practice and dedication.

During the ceremony at the 5th Battalion Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC)premises, officials honoured 315 police personnel for their outstanding service.

While 49 personnel were awarded the DGP Disc and commendation certificates, 149 personnel received the Ati Utkrisht Seva Medals and 117 others Utkrisht Seva Medals.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said such events play an important role in recognising the efforts of police personnel and motivating them to perform better in future.

“Though this ceremony may appear small, it is significant for us. Recognising the excellent work of our jawans is essential to encourage them for even better performance,” he added. PTI AG SMV SMV DV DV
