Lucknow, Apr 24 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday paid tribute to Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’ on his 52nd death anniversary, saying the legendary Hindi poet always worked to awaken society towards struggle, freedom, self-respect and human values.

“On the death anniversary of Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’, the fiery voice of national consciousness, the ‘Rashtra Kavi’, a humble tribute,” Adityanth posted on X.

“The vibrant literary pursuit of ‘Dinkar’ ji always worked to awaken society towards struggle, freedom, self-respect and human values,” he said.

The chief minister added that Dinkar’s “immortal poetic compositions” will continue to provide constant inspiration to future generations.

In another post, Adityanath said a three-day ‘Rashmirathi Festival’ will be inaugurated in Lucknow on Friday in the presence of Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, marking the diamond jubilee year of Dinkar’s immortal work ‘Rashmirathi’ on his 52nd death anniversary.

“This is an excellent opportunity to once again recall our cultural consciousness and the ideals of equality and harmony. A commemorative volume, ‘Dialogue with Rashmirathi’, will be released on this occasion,” he said.

“I will participate in the event and pay homage to the valiant thoughts of national poet Dinkar ji,” Adityanath added.

Ramdhari Singh, known by his pen name Dinkar, was born on September 23, 1908, in Bihar’s Munger district.

‘Rashmirathi’ (1952) is among the seminal works of Dinkar, who was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1959.
