New Delhi: After a spate of bomb threats to the capital’s schools and hospitals, the Delhi Police Wednesday received a bomb threat concerning North Block, which houses the Ministry of Home Affairs, prompting officers to scramble fire tender vehicles and a bomb disposal squad to the spot.
The police control room received an email around 3.30 pm, following which an officer informed the Delhi Fire Services. According to officials, search operations were underway, but nothing suspicious had been found so far.
A dog squad along with bomb disposal and detection teams have been deployed with police and fire department personnel at the North Block.
Over the last few weeks, several schools in Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Jaipur, Uttar Pradesh, and Bengaluru received bomb threats via email. However, all the threats turned out to be “hoaxes.”
