New Delhi, Aug 31 (PTI) After the draft Delhi electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was published on Monday, nearly 47.5 lakh electors excluded from the draft can file their claims using form 6 and supporting documents until September 30, according to an official statement.
The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 4.
Officials said form 6 is used to apply for inclusion in the electoral roll as a new elector. Young persons who attained 18 years of age on or before October 1, 2026, can also apply for enrolment in the electoral roll using form 6, they said.
Form 6A is for enrolling eligible overseas Indian electors.
For those already enrolled but seeking other changes, form 7 can be used to object to a proposed inclusion or seek deletion of an existing entry, while form 8 covers shifting of residence, correction of particulars, replacement of an EPIC without correction and marking a person with a disability.
Officials said forms can be submitted in person to the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO), or Booth Level Officer (BLO), as well as at designated locations notified by the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer.
Applications can also be filed online through the Election Commission’s Voters’ Services Portal or the ECINET mobile application. According to the Delhi CEO office, 70 EROs and 297 AEROs will scrutinise claims and objections.
Applicants seeking inclusion through form 6 must furnish the prescribed declaration and documents relating to their date of birth and residence.
Documents accepted as proof of date of birth include a birth certificate, Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving licence, Class X or XII certificate issued by CBSE, ICSE, or a state board, or an Indian passport.
Residence can be established through documents such as a water, electricity, or gas bill for the address; an Aadhaar card; a current passbook of a nationalised or scheduled bank or post office; an Indian passport; revenue records; or a registered rent lease deed or registered sale deed, as applicable.
Officials said during the notice and verification phase, which will run till October 29, EROs will issue notices to electors whose forms could not be linked with the electoral roll of the previous SIR, where there is a discrepancy in the linkage, or where details in the enumeration form are unavailable or do not match the database.
The house-to-house enumeration for the SIR was conducted between June 30 and August 17, with enumeration forms for 67.18 per cent of electors digitised. The published roll contains around 97.5 lakh electors, compared with the 1,45,10,299 electors on the roll used for the enumeration exercise.
