New Delhi, Jul 16 (PTI) The uniform property tax policy for areas under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi came into effect on Saturday, the civic body said in a statement.

It said it has also decided to extend the last date for availing 10 per cent rebate on lump-sum payment of property tax to July 31 for 2022-23.

Earlier, the last date for availing the rebate was July 16, it said.

After the reunification of the three erstwhile corporations, the MCD announced that a uniform property tax slab would apply to areas under its jurisdiction. Earlier the three corporations had different slabs.

In its statement, the MCD said it will provide a rebate of 10 per cent on property tax if the amount due for the current financial year is paid in lump sum.

“The MCD has taken this decision to provide relief to citizens who failed to avail the rebate by not filing their property tax till July 15, 2022 due to some reasons,” it said.

All concerned officials have been given orders in this regard and property tax offices have also been informed so that citizens do not face any inconvenience, it said. PTI KND DIV
