New Delhi, Jul 2 (PTI) A 28-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death after resisting a robbery attempt in outer north Delhi’s Siraspur, with police apprehending two juveniles, officials said on Thursday.
The victim, Adesh Kumar was found lying in a pool of blood near a drain outside a house after police received a PCR call during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
Despite the injury, Kumar managed to run nearly 500 metres before collapsing close to his residence. He was taken to Burari Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
According to the police, the two juveniles had planned a robbery in the area, with one restraining Kumar while the other attempted to snatch his mobile phone and valuables.
When Kumar raised an alarm, he was stabbed in the chest. The police identified him using a mobile phone, Aadhaar card, and other documents recovered from the scene.
A case was registered at Samaypur Badli police station. During the investigation, the police analysed more than 200 CCTV camera footage, examined the crime scene, conducted local enquiries, leading to the identification of one juvenile.
“One suspect was apprehended during a raid, leading to the recovery of the weapon used in the crime. His disclosure subsequently led to the arrest of the second juvenile in a nearby locality,” the officer added. PTI BM SMV BM SMV APL APL
