New Delhi, May 6 (PTI) The Delhi Assembly on Wednesday hosted a Ram Katha by poet Kumar Vishwas, attended by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, MLAs, and senior officials.
The event was held at the Assembly complex, which was illuminated in saffron hues for the occasion, the Assembly secretariat said in a statement.
Vishwas, whose ‘Apne Apne Ram’ Ram Katha is known for its distinctive narrative style and contemporary relevance, captivated the audience with his signature poetic recital based on the Ramcharitmanas.
The narrative spanned multiple episodes and interpretations, presenting Ram as Maryada Purushottam while also engaging with the complexities, dilemmas, and choices that define his journey, the statement said.
Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said Lord Ram is not merely a figure of reverence, but a living principle of conduct. “His life continues to guide us in understanding duty, balance, and justice in both personal and public life,” he said.
The programme was organised in collaboration with the Delhi government’s Education Department to promote cultural awareness and engagement with India’s literary and philosophical traditions, particularly among the youth, it added. PTI VIT RHL
