DAHD organises exhibition to highlight water conservation in livestock sector

New Delhi: As part of the celebrations of India Water Week-2024, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) organized an exhibition at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, showcasing its work on the conservation of water and sustainable management of water and sanitation in the livestock sector, a PIB release stated.

The exhibition emphasized the importance of the Water Footprint in the Livestock Sector and its impact on the production of livestock and poultry in the Indian Scenario. It also showcased the flagship schemes and programs implemented by the department for the sustainable development of water resources and the achievements of the department in this field.

The exhibition was part of a broader initiative by the Ministry of Jal Shakti to organize India Water Week-2024 as a global platform to raise awareness about the necessity of sustainable water management and development. The event, which lasted from September 17 to 20, saw the participation of decision-makers, politicians, researchers, experts, planners, innovators, students, and stakeholders from across the globe, with a focus on “Partnerships and Cooperation for Inclusive Water Development and Management”.
