Firozabad (UP), May 1 (PTI) A couple and their four-month-old daughter were killed after the motorcycle they were travelling on collided head-on with a truck here, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred late Thursday night in the Jasrana area when the family was on their way to attend a wedding, police said.
Station House Officer Rajesh Kumar Pandey said the deceased Ajay Kumar, 26, his wife Omshri, 24, and their infant daughter Trishna were residents of Patia Padhham village in Jasrana.
According to the police, the motorcycle had just entered the main road from a village road when a speeding, uncontrolled truck coming from the opposite direction rammed into it. All three sustained grievous injuries and fell on the road.
Passersby informed the police through Dial 112, following which the victims were rushed to a hospital where doctors declared them dead.
The police have sent the bodies for a post-mortem and seized the truck. Further legal action is underway, police added. PTI COR CDN SHS SHS
