Jaipur, May 31 (PTI) The Rajasthan government has intensified its crackdown on corruption and administrative negligence, dismissing 20 officials, suspending 332 and stopping pensions of 17 personnel as part of a zero-tolerance drive, an official statement said on Sunday.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has directed strict action against erring officials, stressing that public service cannot be misused for corruption or dereliction of duty. The move aims to improve accountability and ensure transparent governance, the statement said.

Among those dismissed are a Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer and several officials from departments including medical, education, mining and public works. Over 100 cases have also received prosecution sanction, while hundreds more are under investigation.

The government has also acted against retired officials, withholding full pensions in multiple cases involving corruption and misconduct, signalling that action will continue even after service.

The statement said that investigations are ongoing in 577 cases and further action will follow. The chief minister has made it clear that officials failing to serve the public honestly will not be retained in government service. PTI AG MPL MPL
