Hyderabad, Sep 18 (PTI) The ruling Congress and BRS on Friday continued to spar over allegations of irregularities involving the farmhouse of BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and that BRS leadership of “looting” lands worth Rs one lakh crore.
Responding to the allegations that his family owns land worth Rs one lakh crore, BRS working president K T Rama Rao said his family is ready to transfer all its assets if Chief Minister Revanth Reddy deposited Rs one lakh crore into the accounts of poor people across Telangana.
He alleged that the campaign was aimed at diverting public attention from the Revanth Reddy government’s 1,000-day governance failures.
Meanwhile, Congress MPs visited Siddipet district “to place before the people the facts and questions surrounding alleged land transactions involving BRS, including KCR”.
Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said on ‘X’ that questions arise over ‘assigned/Lavani’ lands in Survey No. 271, land acquired for Ranganaik Sagar project, subsequent transactions, and others.
“If everything was done lawfully, the records should answer these questions. Telangana people deserve transparency, accountability and the truth,” he said.
CM Revanth Reddy on September 16 accused the BRS leadership of “looting” lands worth Rs one lakh crore and ordered an inquiry into alleged irregularities involving KCR’s farmhouse.
He ordered a special enquiry team (SET) to probe into the alleged irregularities in issues related to lands.
