Hyderabad, May 2 (PTI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday directed the PRC to submit its report immediately, as the government is ready to decide on salary revisions.

Reddy, who held a meeting with the Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) and discussed their pending demands, announced the clearance of Rs 6,000 crore in pending dues of retired employees within 100 days and the issuance of health cards to all employees by June 1, according to a press release.

He suggested that employees’ unions hold meetings every two months and submit reports on their issues.

Reddy said one of the first decisions taken by the government after assuming office was the disbursement of salaries on the first day of every month.

He also said that employees’ unions have been given the freedom to conduct their elections independently.

The CM acknowledged the services of government employees in the successful implementation of welfare and development programmes since the Congress came to power in the state.

He said the government also carried out the transfer of teachers in a planned manner, without confusion or chaos.

Reddy said the government had responded positively to the proposal to issue health cards to all employees, and that the cards would be issued by June 1.

“Within 100 days, the government will disburse Rs 6,000 crore towards retirement benefits of employees. The decision on prioritising the utilisation of these funds rests with employees’ unions,” he said.

Highlighting that 67,760 employees have been recruited in various departments, Reddy directed Pay Revision Commission officials to submit their report immediately, stating that the government would make a decision thereafter.

He further suggested that employees’ unions meet once every two months and submit reports on any issues or concerns.

Thanking the government for responding positively to their demands, the employees’ JAC announced the withdrawal of the proposed strike scheduled for May 5, along with other protest programmes, the release added. PTI VVK SSK
