CM prays to ‘padukas’ of saints Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram in Pune; greets ‘warkaris’

Pune, Jul 10 (PTI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday prayed in front of the ‘padukas’ of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj at Palkhi Vitthal Temple in Bhavani Peth in Pune.The CM, who performed the traditional ‘palkhi’ (palanquin) worship at the temple, greeted ‘warkaris’ marching on pilgrimage to Pandharpur and wished them a safe journey.

Those present on the occasion included state Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, Pune Mayor Manjusha Nagpure and trustees of the Palkhi Vitthal Temple.

A large number of ‘warkaris’ and devotees had gathered at the temple premises on the occasion of ‘Ashadhi Wari’.

The CM also prayed at the ‘padukas’ of Sant Tukaram Maharaj in a temple nearby. PTI COR BNM
