Una (HP), Jun 16 (PTI) Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has said that the Himachal Pradesh government will spend around Rs 250 crore to redevelop the Mata Chintpurni Temple in Una district.
Agnihotri made the announcement while presiding over a review meeting on the temple’s expansion and development on Monday.
The ambitious project, he said, envisages the development of a modern pilgrim complex, while ensuring that the original structure and sanctity of the temple’s sanctum sanctorum remain intact.
The deputy chief minister directed officials concerned to expedite all pending formalities so that construction work can begin at the earliest.
He said the project’s design and land acquisition processes are nearly complete and construction is expected to commence soon.
“The foundation stone of the project will soon be laid by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu,” Agnihotri said.
He further said the state government aims to complete the first phase of the project within the next year to enable pilgrims to benefit from improved facilities and modern amenities.
To ensure timely completion, the construction work will be regularly monitored and all procedures will be carried out within the stipulated timeframe, he added.
Agnihotri also appealed to local residents, stakeholders associated with the temple and pilgrims to extend their cooperation for the successful execution of the project.
“With the blessings of Mata Chintpurni and the cooperation of all, this project will surely establish a new identity for the state in terms of religion and tourism,” he said. PTI COR NB NB
