Jaipur, Oct 5 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Secretary V Srinivasan on Monday reviewed air quality management and pollution control measures in five NCR districts in the state and directed officials to ensure time-bound, result-oriented action, officials said.

The review meeting covered Bharatpur, Alwar, Deeg, Khairthal-Tijara and Kotputli-Behror districts, with focus on road dust, vehicular and industrial emissions, construction activities and waste management, according to a statement released here.

Srinivasan directed district administrations to prepare a concrete roadmap for traffic management in major cities and towns and address congestion on key routes to reduce vehicular emissions. He also stressed the need for regular GPS-based monitoring of mechanical road sweepers and improved road-cleaning arrangements.

He directed officials to accelerate road construction and repair in industrial areas and ensure effective implementation of vehicle pollution-control measures, including the ‘No PUCC-No Fuel’ system. The meeting also reviewed measures to promote electric buses, develop EV charging stations, control industrial emissions and provide farmers with machinery for crop-residue management, the statement said.

Officials from Khairthal-Tijara said eight mechanical road sweepers were operational in Bhiwadi and work orders had been issued for seven more. Of 224 industrial units in Bhiwadi, 210 were connected to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) server, they said.

In Kotputli-Behror, officials said measures including paving vacant roadside land, interlocking and developing green belts were being undertaken to control road dust. PTI AG

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
