Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Wednesday met Union Railways Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw and discussed four pivotal railway projects to enhance connectivity and foster economic growth in the state.

In a meeting at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi, Sai stressed the significance of expanding Chhattisgarh’s rail network to bolster the region’s social and economic development. He urged the Union minister to start, at the earliest, four major railway projects in the state.

These are Dharamjaigarh-Pathalgaon-Lohardaga, Ambikapur-Barwadih, Kharsia-Naya Raipur-Parmalaksa and Raoghat-Jagdalpur rail line projects.

The Rs 16,000 crore Dharamjaigarh-Pathalgaon-Lohardaga rail line project is 240 km long and will enhance connectivity between north Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

The Rs 9,000-crore Ambikapur-Barwadih and the Rs 8,000-crore Kharsia-New Raipur-Parmalkasa rail line projects are key to coal transportation.

Union Railways Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw acknowledged the strategic importance of these projects and assured the Chief Minister about prioritising their swift implementation. He emphasised that these initiatives are crucial for the holistic development of Chhattisgarh and will get priority.
