Banda, Jul 29 (PTI) Chhattisgarh BJP president and Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Singhdeo was injured after the SUV he was travelling in rammed into a truck on National Highway-44 in Uttar Pradesh’s Lalitpur district on Wednesday, police said.

The 58-year-old leader sustained injuries to his hands and legs, Talbehat Circle Officer Ashish Mishra said.

The accident took place near a college under Talbehat police station limits when Singhdeo’s Toyota Innova collided with a truck moving ahead of it, he added.

Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident and shifted Singhdeo to the Talbehat Community Health Centre for first aid.

He was later referred to the Jhansi Medical College for advanced treatment.

His condition is stated to be out of danger, Mishra said.

According to police, Singhdeo was returning to Raipur from the Bageshwar Dham shrine in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district when the accident occurred. PTI COR KIS APL APL
