Dehradun, May 16 (PTI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday visited Devidhura in Champawat to conduct an on-site inspection of the reconstruction and development works underway at the Maa Varahi Shaktipeeth Dham.

He stated that, in the near future, this shrine is poised to become a major centre for religious tourism at both national and international levels.

Dhami remarked that Maa Varahi Dham is not merely a centre of faith, but also a symbol of Uttarakhand’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

He emphasised that the development of the shrine would be undertaken while preserving its mythological grandeur and original character, ensuring that devotees can enjoy a profound spiritual experience alongside modern amenities.

The chief minister expressed confidence that the Dham would emerge as a prominent hub for religious tourism and would generate new employment opportunities for the youth.

Dhami also offered prayers at the Maa Varahi Temple, seeking happiness, prosperity, and well-being for the people of the state.

Situated at an altitude of 6,633 feet above sea level, Maa Varahi Dham is currently undergoing a grand reconstruction project estimated to cost approximately Rs 15 crore. The Maa Varahi Shaktipeeth Trust has set a target to complete this project within the next two to three years.

Specially carved stones from Rajasthan will be utilised for the temple’s construction, while the architectural design and intricate craftsmanship will be executed under the supervision of expert artisans from Gujarat. PTI DPT NB APL APL
