Gurugram, Sep 17 (PTI) At least nine people were injured on Faridabad road after a cement mixer truck lost control due to brake failure and collided with 11 vehicles ahead of it, including seven cars and two motorcycles, causing a traffic jam stretching several kilometres, police said on Thursday. According to police, the accident occurred around 9:45 pm on Wednesday on the slope leading from Ghata T-point towards Paras Quartier building. Following the accident, vehicle debris was scattered across the road.
Police said the damaged cars included an electric cab and a new Grand Vitara with temporary registration.
The second truck carried about 50 tonnes of stones.
Police arrived after being informed and sent the injured to hospital. Police said no one sustained serious injuries. Police then removed the damaged vehicles from the road one by one using a crane.
A police officer at the scene said traffic normalised around 11:30 pm, and the jam cleared within about an hour.
“The driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the vehicles ahead one after another. Finally, the truck slowed down after colliding with a dumper loaded with stones. No car driver or vehicle occupant has lodged a complaint in the matter so far,” he said. PTI COR ASD ASD
