Omkareshwar, Jul 4 (PTI) Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Saturday night offered prayers to Lord Shiva at the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh.
The resolution he and his wife had made in 2003 to visit all 12 Jyotirlingas across the country was fulfilled after 23 years with the Omkareshwar visit, he said.
“Today is a special day for my wife Anuradha and me. We had resolved to visit the 12 Jyotirlingas, and with the blessings of Mahadev, this resolution has been fulfilled,” a beaming Kumar told reporters.
He also appealed the people to give importance to spirituality in their lives, experience Indianness, and work for the progress of the country.
Earlier in the evening, the CEC interacted with booth level officers (BLOs) in Indore.
