Caste survey conducted by Cong govt in T’gana one of best models: CM Revanth Reddy

Stay updated with ThePrint:

Hyderabad, Nov 4 (PTI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said the caste survey conducted by the state government is one of the best models.

Speaking at Sri Krishna Sadar Sammelanam, an annual buffalo carnival celebrated during Deepavali by the Yadav community here, he said the Congress government gave political representation to the Yadavs and would ensure that the community gets its due share in the future.

Anil Kumar Yadav, a Youth Congress leader and the organiser of the Sadar event, has been made a Rajya Sabha member, he said.

Lauding the Yadav community in the growth of Hyderabad, he said their support is crucial for the completion of the state government’s Musi River Rejuvenation, Metro Rail Phase 2 and Bharat Future City projects and urged them to work hard for the city’s growth.

The Golconda Fort in Hyderabad was originally ‘Golla Konda’ (shepherd’s hill), which belonged to Yadavs, Reddy said.

Recalling that the state government had recognised Sadar as a state festival and sanctioned Rs five crore, he regretted that the status was not given earlier after the formation of Telangana and during undivided Andhra Pradesh.

Former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and several Congress leaders attended the event. PTI SJR SJR KH
