Gonda (UP), Jul 16 (PTI) Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said those in power could not be called “Hindu Hriday Samrat” because they did not regard the cow as “mother”.

Addressing a gathering during his ‘Goraksharth Dharmayuddh Yatra’ in Gonda on Wednesday night, he said, “People in power cannot be Hindu Hriday Samrat because they consider the cow an animal, not Gau Mata.” He said if the government does not remove the cow from the list of animals and declare it as Gau Mata, the people should overthrow this government.

Saraswati also held Prime Minister Narendra Modi responsible for the lack of action against Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust General Secretary Champat Rai. “The Prime Minister is protecting a loyal person who can be made to do whatever is required,” he alleged.

Referring to allegations over donations at the Ram Temple, he said, “It was not theft, but an act carried out by pre-arranged artists.” The seer also demanded that the management of Sanatan Dharma temples should remain exclusively in the hands of religious leaders and followers of the faith.

Avimukteshwarananda has had several run-ins with the government, including a confrontation with the organisers of the Magh Mela in Prayagraj, where he accused the administration of preventing him from bathing on Mauni Amavasya. PTI COR CDN ASD ASD ASD
