Bodies of 2 drowned men fished out from Chenab in Jammu

Jammu, Aug 12 (PTI) Bodies of two men were recovered from the Chenab River here on Wednesday, four days after they went bathing into it, officials said.

Gajay Singh and Rakesh Singh, aged 30 and 35 and both residents of the Khour area of Akhnoor, had drowned while bathing in the river near Hamirpur-Sidhar village on August 9.

While the body of Gajay Singh was recovered this morning, Rakesh was found dead in the river late in the evening, the officials said.

The bodies were handed over to their families for last rites.

Authorities found a motorcycle, two mobile phones, and clothes at the riverbank on the day of their drowning. PTI TAS VN VN
