Chandigarh, Jul 15 (PTI) Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jalandhar on July 17.
Dhillon visited the redeveloped Jalandhar Cantonment Railway Station and the rally venue. He also held discussions with officials from the police, civil administration and the Railways regarding the preparations.
He said the prime minister is visiting Punjab on July 17 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several major development projects.
Dhillon said the entire BJP Punjab unit and the people of the state are enthusiastically preparing to give the prime minister a grand welcome.
Whenever Modi visits Punjab, he brings a major development gift for the state, and this visit will be no different, with development projects worth crores set to be dedicated to Punjab, said Dhillon.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the redeveloped railway stations at Jalandhar Cantonment, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), Sri Muktsar Sahib and Sri Anandpur Sahib.
These stations have been upgraded into world-class facilities equipped with modern waiting lounges, free Wi-Fi, upgraded platforms, food courts, escalators and several other passenger-friendly amenities for senior citizens, children and differently-abled passengers.
He further said that besides the railway station redevelopment projects, several other major initiatives aimed at accelerating Punjab’s development will also be launched.
Dhillon said that PM Modi’s singular vision is to make India the world’s leading nation, with Punjab playing a vital role in that journey.
He said the modernisation of old railway stations across the state reflects this vision by transforming them into world-class transport hubs.
The BJP leader asserted that the development taking place in Punjab today is being driven by the central government’s initiatives.
He expressed confidence that the people of Punjab would support the BJP’s development agenda in the 2027 assembly elections and the Bharatiya Janata Party would form the next government in the state. PTI CHS KSS KSS
