Kolkata, Jun 29 (PTI) BJP MLA Utpal Brahmachari on Monday moved a point of order in the West Bengal Assembly over the alleged derogatory remarks by Aam Janata Unnayan Party MLA Humayun Kabir against Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.

Moving the point of order, the Kaliaganj MLA sought a statement on the alleged derogatory remarks by the Rejinagar legislator against the chief minister at a public meeting recently.

Maintaining that this was a serious issue, Speaker Rathindra Basu asked Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sankar Ghosh to make a statement on the matter.

Ghosh told the House that the chief minister will himself speak on the issue in the Assembly later in the day.
