Jaipur, Aug 29 (PTI) Ruling BJP on Saturday held detailed discussions on social equations, local political factors and workers’ feedback for individual wards as it stepped up preparations for the upcoming urban local body elections in the state.
Former Rajasthan BJP president Arun Chaturvedi said the party was undertaking ward-wise discussions for more than 10,000 wards across the state.
Chaturvedi, who is also the urban local body election in-charge for the Ajmer division, said the party was analysing the social composition of each ward, role of community organisations, views of party workers and local political circumstances before finalising its electoral strategy.
He claimed that such extensive preparations for the urban local body polls were being undertaken for the first time in six decades.
Taking a swipe at the Congress, Chaturvedi alleged that the opposition party was grappling with internal differences while the BJP was engaged in organisational deliberations and preparing a strategy for victory.
Jaipur division election in-charge Prabhulal Saini said panels and committees constituted by the BJP were discussing prospective candidates for each seat and the party’s authorised list would be released soon.
He said more than 150 advocates had been assigned responsibilities to facilitate the nomination process.
“Everyone has the right to seek a ticket, but once the party takes a decision, the entire organisation works like a family to ensure the victory of the BJP candidate,” Saini said. PTI SDA PRK
