Bihar CM inaugurates technology centre, 4 extension centres

Patna, Apr 28 (PTI) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday inaugurated a technology centre in Patna’s Bihta locality and four extension centres in Muzaffarpur, Rohtas, Darbhanga and Munger.

The technology centres, set up by the Union government in collaboration with the state, are specialised facilities providing MSMEs an access to technical training and consultancy services.

“Training at these centres will focus on product quality, packaging, and effective national and international marketing. Youth trained at these centres will receive diplomas and degrees, which will enhance employment opportunities and skill development,” Choudhary said, as per a CMO statement.

The Bihar CM asserted that Rs 200 crore was recently approved in the first cabinet of his government to establish an Artificial Intelligence Research Centre at IIT Bihta.

“Land will soon be identified in Gaya Ji for another technology centre. I have urged the Central government to approve 10 more such centres in Bihar,” he said.

Choudhary pledged to fulfil the aspirations of the people of the state and realise the vision of a developed Bihar envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former chief minister Nitish Kumar.

The Bihar government aims to attract investments worth Rs 5 lakh crore by November 20 to boost industrial growth and employment, he said.

The chief minister also distributed cheques, toolkits, and certificates to beneficiaries of schemes such as PM Vishwakarma Yojana, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme, SC/ST Hub Scheme, and Gram Udyog Vikas Yojana during the inauguration programme.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to provide jobs and employment opportunities to one crore youth in Bihar.
