Cooch Behar (WB), Sep 22 (PTI) Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday said West Bengal would receive huge investments as the entire country is ready to support the BJP government in rebuilding the state, which has suffered “considerable decline” under the previous Left Front and Mamata Banerjee dispensations.
Interacting with reporters here, the chief minister said the Adani Group’s 2,000-bed hospital in Kolkata’s New Town will break ground on Thursday. “Gautam Adani ji will attend the event,” he said.
“There will be huge investments in Bengal. All major investors will be here. The Communists and previous chief minister Mamata (Banerjee) have caused massive damage to the state. The entire country is ready to support the BJP government to get Bengal back on its feet. I have got this commitment from everybody,” Adhikari said.
About his recent visit to Mumbai, during which he went to the residence of the Ambanis and met industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his son Anant Ambani, the chief minister said he had been invited by Anant Ambani to attend the family’s Ganapati celebrations.
“I got an invitation from Anant Ambani to be part of their Ganapati celebration. I could not go last week. Yesterday, I managed to visit his residence. I did aarti at the mandir inside their residence. I also had dinner with Mukesh ji and Anant ji,” he said.
On whether he held any specific discussion with them, Adhikari said, “If something happens, you will see. You will have to wait and see. Please be patient.” PTI SCH NSD
