Kolkata, Jun 17 (PTI) The West Bengal government on Wednesday transferred 128 WBCS (Executive) officers, in a major administrative reshuffle affecting several districts and key state departments.

The Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department issued a series of notifications stating the new assignments for officers serving in district administrations, state secretariat departments and various government bodies.

The reshuffle includes transfers of several additional district magistrates, sub-divisional officers and senior officers holding key administrative positions.

Several officers have also been appointed as joint secretaries and deputy secretaries in departments such as School Education, Higher Education, Housing, Fisheries, Disaster Management and Civil Defence.

“The exercise has been undertaken in the interest of administrative efficiency and public service. The officers concerned have been directed to assume charge of their new assignments at the earliest,” a state government official said. PTI SCH NSD
