Thane, Apr 24 (PTI) Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directed officials to take back government plots allotted to agencies that have not been developed for years or where allotment conditions have been violated, according to an official release.

The minister issued the directive concerning land allotted to bodies such as City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) and Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA), during a meeting at the state secretariat Mantralaya on Thursday, it said.

Bawankule asked the Konkan Divisional Commissioner to gather detailed information on such land allotments, including the number of plots allotted, the beneficiaries, and whether legal conditions attached to the allotments have been breached.

A special committee will be constituted to examine the issue, the release said. The panel will review cases of alleged violations and share its recommendations. It has been asked to submit its report within one month, the release said.

The meeting also discussed broader issues related to land management, including allotment of government land to institutions and steps to reclaim unused government land held by various entities, it said. PTI COR NR
