Itanagar, Jul 31 (PTI) The Arunachal Pradesh administration has launched a statewide drive to examine the licenses and regulatory compliance of pharmacies and medicine outlets amid complaints of improper medicine storage and pharmacists lacking credentials.
The state’s Directorate of Health Services (Drugs Control Administration) on Thursday ordered all zonal licensing authorities and drug control officers to inspect all retail medicine outlets within their jurisdictions immediately.
Officials said the inspection was triggered by complaints against the operational integrity of pharmacies, such as non-compliance with statutory norms, improper medicine storage, and the absence or lack of credential verification for pharmacists.
Licensing scrutiny and regulatory inspections would be the two key focus areas of the inspection.
All inspecting officers must submit their reports by August 14.
