Itanagar, May 13 (PTI): The Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services on Wednesday signed a pact with RedBus, a subsidiary of MakeMyTrip (India), to expand its online e-ticketing services across the state.
With the partnership, RedBus-MakeMyTrip will become the official online bus ticketing partner of APSTS, enabling passengers to book tickets through multiple digital platforms, including MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, Google Pay, Amazon Pay and IRCTC, an official communique informed here.
The pact signing ceremony was presided over by Transport Minister Ojing Tasing in the presence of Transport Commissioner Saugat Biswas and other officials.
The agreement was signed between APSTS general manager Mito Dirchi and RedBus director (supply) Rajarshi Bhowmick.
The online ticketing platform is expected to be launched from next month and will be accessible through mobile phones, personal computers, booking counters and bus conductors.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the initiative would improve accessibility, convenience and the digital reach of APSTS services for the public.
He added that the move is also expected to enhance revenue generation while providing passengers with a seamless booking experience.
Biswas said the service would initially cover inter-state bus routes and later expand to include all routes within the state. PTI UPL UPL MNB
