Itanagar, Jul 13 (PTI): Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona on Monday said the state government is committed to strengthening transparency, efficiency and institutional excellence through reforms in the education sector.

Chairing a meeting at the Assembly office here, the minister reviewed the proposed recruitment rules for the post of deputy director of elementary education, which would provide for promotions from the post of block education officer.

Sona said the discussions focused on evolving a “transparent, merit-based and well-defined promotional framework” that would strengthen administrative efficiency while creating better career advancement opportunities for officers in the education department.

“A robust and progressive service structure is essential for motivating our officers and further improving the quality of educational administration across the state,” he said.

Sona, who also holds the post of the Rural Works Department, reviewed the progress of ongoing road connectivity projects in Shi-Yomi district during a meeting with the RWD division.

The minister said the meeting assessed the status of various projects and discussed challenges affecting their execution.

Sona stressed the need for better coordination among all stakeholders to ensure that development works progress without unnecessary delays.

“I directed the department to strengthen monitoring and establish a dedicated mechanism for closer supervision of the PMGSY projects so that implementation can be accelerated and accountability improved,” he said.

The minister said the government remains committed to expediting road connectivity projects in Shi-Yomi district for the benefit of the local population. PTI UPL UPL MNB
