Shimla, Sep 7 (PTI) A total of 59 roads were blocked in Himachal Pradesh as rains continued to lash parts of the state and the Shimla Met office on Monday predicted a wet spell in the state till September 13.
Heavy rains lashed Dhaulakuan in Sirmaur district, which recorded 58.5 mm of rain in the past 24 hours since Sunday evening. Light rains were witnessed in some parts of the state: Sarahan received 13.8 mm followed by Kasauli and Khadrala with 10 mm each, Kufri 7.6 mm, Guler 6.8 mm, Nahan 6.4 mm. Kotkhai 6.2 mm and Ghamroor 5.6 mm.
Thunderstorms and lightning lashed Kangra, Sundernagar and Murari Devi, the Met said and predicted wet spell in the state till September 13.
A total of 59 roads were closed in Himachal Pradesh following the rainfall. The maximum number of roads are blocked in Mandi district (29), followed by Kullu (11), Kangra (7), Sirmaur (5), Una (3), Shimla (2) and Solan and Lahaul-Spiti (1 each).
Additionally, four power transformers and three water supply schemes have been hit, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC).
