Army chief meets Haryana governor; discusses security, civil-military synergy

Chandigarh, Aug 10 (PTI) Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth met with Haryana Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh at the Lok Bhavan here on Monday.

During their discussion, they addressed issues related to civil-military synergy and regional security, an official statement said.

This meeting marked General Seth’s first engagement with the governor since he took command of the Indian Army.

The meeting focused on a wide spectrum of issues including internal security, empowerment of the youth, employment of Agniveers, welfare of Ex-Servicemen, housing projects, initiatives taken towards Atmanirbharta and operational preparedness.

Response towards natural disasters, preparatory and mitigation measures to minimise their effects were also discussed during the meeting.

The exemplary performance of sportsmen from the Indian Army who hail from the state was also lauded.

The Army chief assured the governor of the Indian Army’s commitment and resolve for national security and nation building.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of mementoes, further strengthening the bond between the armed services and the state administration.
