Amaravati, May 6 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh SIPB headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday approved investment proposals worth over Rs 2 lakh crore, which included a Reliance Industries data centre project in Visakhapatnam at an investment of over Rs 1 lakh crore.
The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) also approved a Rs 51,300-crore Reliance solar power project with battery energy storage in Sri Sathyasai district and a Rs 12,297-crore pumped storage hydro project in Kadapa by Adani Group.
“SIPB today approved investment proposals worth Rs 2.01 lakh crore. These projects are expected to generate 39,067 employment opportunities across the state,” an official release said.
A Rs 2,508-crore Royal Enfield motorcycle manufacturing unit in Tirupati, a DRDO-linked Quantum Valley project in Amaravati and investments in food processing and other sectors were also approved.
The chief minister called for grounding every investment proposal as per schedule, observing that projects must be completed within defined timelines, from approvals to production.
Noting that there should be zero delay in granting permissions, the CM said Andhra Pradesh should build a strong brand for fast and transparent clearances.
Stressing the importance of according equal importance to MSMEs alongside large industries, he underscored that they are critical to achieving the ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur’ goal.
The CM underlined the need to expand gas pipeline infrastructure in industrial zones and adding value to crops like oil palm, mango, coconut and cocoa to benefit farmers, the release said. PTI STH KH
