Amaravati, Oct 11 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday virtually launched the distribution of permanent house titles to 939 families covering over 22 acres at Sarvepalli Katta in Nellore.

The Chief Miniter underscored that the beneficiaries were being granted ownership rights to properties valued at approximately Rs 600 crore.

“Naidu virtually launched the distribution of permanent house titles to 939 families covering 22.31 acres at Sarvepalli Katta in Nellore from his camp office in Amaravati,” said an official press release.

Naidu said distribution of house titles to poor families was a priority and reflected the government’s sincerity towards their welfare.

The CM said it was a matter of satisfaction that poor families who had been living on government land for decades were finally receiving legal security.

The distribution of permanent house titles was being undertaken across Andhra Pradesh on a large scale, he said.

He noted that 60,000 families in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Mangalagiri had been granted house titles covering assets worth Rs 52,000 crore.

The coalition government’s objective is to ensure security, dignity and an asset for every individual, he said, directing officials to distribute permanent house titles to another 4,000 poor families in Nellore by the coming Sankranti festival.

Naidu said the government would provide essential infrastructure along with housing sites, including internet connectivity, toilets, roads and drainage facilities.

The government was spending approximately Rs 1.8 lakh crore on infrastructure development in urban and rural areas, he added. PTI STH ROH

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
