Amaravati, July 16 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday participated in the grand Jagannath Rath Yatra organised by ISKCON here.

Dressed in traditional attire, Naidu offered prayers and joined thousands of devotees in pulling the sacred, elaborately decorated wooden chariots.

State Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana and Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar were among others who took part in the programme.

The Jagannath Rath Yatra, one of the most revered Hindu festivals, commemorates the annual journey of Lord Jagannath, accompanied by Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, from the main temple to the Gundicha Temple in the wooden chariots.

Devotees consider the act of pulling the chariots a profound spiritual blessing.

After staying at the Gundicha Temple for several days, the deities return to the main temple during the Bahuda Yatra, marking the conclusion of the annual festival. PTI MS ROH
