Ranchi, Aug 22 (PTI) AI-powered learning platform Prepzy.ai is being introduced in schools across Jharkhand with a focus on the state-run 80 CM Schools of Excellence to provide students with personalised academic support.

A brainchild of former state health secretary Shivendu, now an associate professor at the University of South Florida, and former state education secretary Mridula Sinha, the platform was showcased before principals, wardens and school managers of all 80 CM Schools of Excellence.

Jharkhand Education Project Council, in a statement, said the orientation programme, organised under the Department of School Education and Literacy, focused on a structured board-readiness plan for Classes 9 to 12.

“The introduction of Prepzy.ai marks an effort to bring AI-enabled learning support into the state’s model government schools, combining classroom teaching with technology that students can access beyond school hours,” an official said.

“Built for the CBSE and NCERT curriculum for Classes 6 to 12, Prepzy.ai brings together 75 courses, more than 5,200 video lectures, over 2.5 lakh practice questions, five-plus years of previous-year board papers and 24×7 AI tutoring on a single platform,” the statement added.

A key attraction for government schools is that the platform requires no additional hardware or school-level licence, potentially allowing them to introduce personalised digital academic support without significant infrastructure requirements.

During the orientation, school leaders were shown how students can use the platform to practice competency-based questions, identify weak areas and strengthen conceptual understanding.

Its AI tutor is designed to respond to students’ questions in real time, explain concepts and provide step-by-step guidance.

“Our goal is simple. We want every student across these 80 schools walking into the boards prepared and confident,” said Sankalp Tiwari, Deputy Manager, Strategic Initiatives at GlobusLearn.

Prepzy.ai is a product of GlobusLearn Services India Private Limited and is backed by three former Jharkhand civil servants – former health secretary Dr Shivendu, former education secretary Sinha and former chief secretary Sudhir Tripathi.

The founders say their experience in government exposed them to the persistent gap between students’ aspirations and the academic resources available to them, particularly in rural and economically disadvantaged communities.

Shivendu said the platform was conceived with the objective of enabling a child studying in a government school in a remote area to access academic guidance comparable to that available to students in better-resourced private schools.

The platform uses a framework that analyses students’ learning patterns, identifies conceptual gaps and provides targeted guidance.

It combines interactive lessons, assessments, customised practice, CBSE-style mock examinations, previous-year papers, digital notes and performance tracking.

Parents and teachers can also monitor student progress through dedicated dashboards, while Mathematics and Science content is being made available in Hindi and other regional languages to improve accessibility, the founders added.

The wider orientation programme featured addresses by School Education Secretary Umashankar Singh and CBSE Ranchi Regional Officer Ramveer, besides expert sessions on CBSE governance, board readiness and the School Quality Assessment and Assurance Framework. PTI NAM NSD MNB

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
